How is she annoying when she wasn't given proper instructions in the first place? Plus even when she was kidnapped, became mute and her brother died people were calling her stupid. It's like lacking perspective is trendy up until she begins to have panic attacks and wants to die because she is now officially dead and came back to life.

Your opinion isn't wrong, but if she isn't a pure idealist in the beginning then how can she change and overcome? In terms of personal preference, I agree, she's definitely the annoying, super ultra pure and naive type. I hate that type the most. However, in terms of plot and development, she is the perfect blank slate to play with and sully so that the story continues to grow and becomes more interesting. ;) Don't hate on her too much, she's what is keeping the plot train moving.
