Why not hate him too?
i don't particularly like him. but is it surprising that someone who was groomed and then thrown onto the battlefield as a child would have a warped ideology? She raised him, abandoned him, loved him, abandoned him, and then tried to kill herself in front of him. Who the fuck would be normal with that life?

He was already 16, just small. And might I remaind you he's a 30 years old man? The man was fucked up to begin w. If he gets pity, she should be worshipped. He was a ruined man. She was a ruined woman. However, she never made advances towards him. ALSO he might've been a child in our eyes but considering the timline it was normal for him to train to become a knight and go to war. Dietrich became a knight at his age. I don't see how that is wrong bcz she won't able to feed and protect anyone if she didn't send both Dietrich and Wilhelm for battle. She did what a smart ladyship would do for her countdom. Furthermore, he regained his memories during the war and even while knowing Dietrich was only family she has left, he left him to die. Only bcs he was jealous of him. He disliked her shedding tears for a man who died for her sake, the only true friend she had. He took away her revenge and made it his own when he was supposed to help her take her revenge. He meddled where he shouldn't have and took away her peace. She still accepted him. If it was me I would've gone batshit for how could he kill the crown prince himself when she should've been the one to make him suffer.
The only thing I blame her for is bcs she abandoned her child. Even though I understand her resent towards the face of man who betrayed her. That was her child.
So, if you're gonna hate her, make sure to hate him too. Equally, if not more.
He has his memories of his 1st life and was obsessed with her in that one too. He was fucked up long before they ever met
i'm pretty sure if you raise a child knowing they have feelings for you so you use that love to convince him to risk his life for you and then she slept with him. if a parental figure raising a child and then sleeping them isn't grooming then idk what is. even if you want to pretend it wasn't intentional on her part that the relationship became sexual it does not change that fact that a person who saaw herself as a guardian allowed herself to cross the line and sleep with the child she was raising. how is that NOT grooming?

Dietrich was literally aware of Wilhelm's feelings even before he was. And made sure to use it against him later to train him. Rein treated Wilhelm like a little brother. She saw herself in Wilhelm and she did what her father did for her, an orphan. How could call something like that grooming? Grooming is something you do deliberately. For your own benefit ONLY. However, not only she saved Luden, she also saved Wilhelm from abuse again. If she didn't pick him up history would repeat. She is entitled to revenge just like Wilhelm. But what went wrong was Wilhelm plotting her back and taking her chance of revenge away from her. If anyone ruined someone here, it is Wilhelm. He ruined her further w his obsession. Read it again.
yes she did. when she finds out about her father's body and decides to send him off. she thinks about how she can purposely abuse his affection. it doesn't matter how much you want to argue she didn't know, when a guardian abuses a child's affection and then grows up and engages in a romantic relationship with their own child. whether or not you want to argue that she was not in the wrong, all you have to do is think about a foster child grows up and sleeps with their foster parents, the foster parent isn't a pig to you? she was not living her first life, so she was way older than 16. and 16 yr old people are children when they believe that or not. it's absurd to defend her for what she's done to him. he's a mess but he's a mess bc he was raised by that psychopath and doens't understand how to love bc that's what he has seen. she on the other hand grew up with a good family and has no excuse for being so cruel to a boy who only craved some form of affection. but lets agree to disagree bc i have no interest in changing my opinion of her being a sociopath

I don't understand why you keep saying he is the way he is bcz she raised him. She did NOT. He was already 16 when she found him. She literally kept him under her wing for 2 years. And then he was send to battle. Where he regained his memory. He was fucked up to BEGIN WITH.
