From my perspective, he is doing what he thinks will help his lover. I see his good intentions, as the other readers have pointed out, it may not be his place to do that but he is just trying his best to help the most precious person to him. I do not view this as toxic, I feel like all the people who see a partner trying to help his lover to sort out his own feelings and issues with his mother (who suffered from domestic violence ) view it as invading one's privacy/being toxic, haven't really understood what each character has gone through.Inwoo was also a victim, he was beaten physically and even thrown in water because of how psychotic his father was. All of his life has made him into what he is, it's very very understandable how it all impacts his every move in his adulthood. Now that he has Jiho he feels somewhat loves and understood, but that empty feeling still lingers. All the scars he was, many of them can be healed with his mother's involvement. I truly think that if the sensible of us were in Jiho's place and we truly loved and wanted to help our lover we'd do the same thing.

It's true that everyone moves at their own pace, but sometimes a little push can go a long way. Inwoo's not going to take it all very well, but later one I'm sure he will be able to confront everything with a little more ease
