what makes you think she’s “playing the victim?” she’s a literal victim in all her previous lives. her first life with the crown prince was literal torture. he cheats on her; contracting a shit ton of diseases, passes them on to her which essentially causes 4 miscarriages, brutally rapes her and as a resort she commits suicide. her second life, she falls in love with a commoner and they flee together only to be caught by her family to have her be married to the prince. she watches her husband get murdered and not only this but listen to her father tell her brother to kill her baby to AGAIN marry her off to the prince. she kills herself and it’s up to the reader to decide if she also killed her own baby (which is a very hard thing to do for her). her current life is her trying to survive but we see that she has a change of heart and is falling in love with carcel. but do tell me where she is playing the victim as it seems to have slipped right past me.
There are some things here that are not accurate.
In her life when she was crown princess, she was 100% a victim.
In her life when she ran away, she bore some responsibility. She did not love the commoner she ran away with. She premediatedly chose him to use to run away from marriage with Oscar. She was not in love when she ran away. Author even said what she felt was something immature and it’s only when they were fugitives she learned to love him. Do manhwa readers even realize she ran away with a stranger whom she knew for only 10 days? Love? No. Ines is always the very last to fall in love. Ines also knows her actions of drawing a complete stranger into her plot cost him his life. Why do you think she almost died seeing the pendant? Author said in this life Ines feels like a murderer who cannot forget her guilt for a moment. If she did absolutely nothing wrong, why is she fed,ing so much guilt? Ines is not the kind of person to feel guilty without a valid reason. She blames herself for ruining the life of a completely innocent stranger.
I’m guessing that OP probably came to hate Ines after reading the novel because Ines indeed is a person who doesn’t easily admit her faults, uses people, justifies her bad actions, plot against people, doesn’t value those who help her, etc. Another novel reader I know likes Ines precisely because she’s a deeply flawed character. Ines’s thoughts in the novel exposes her flaws very well.

I have never liked Ines and will never like her, she pathetic woman who always have been playing victim even while making others life miserable.
