i think its okay. the brother realized being used and was okay with it and its not like the other guy was keeping it a secrete, i would think its wrong if he kept it a secrete from the brother.

It was hardly that secret- he told Shinobu that same day they met, just later in a more intimate setting. To be fair you can't expect Furuya to just come and blurt out everything to a perfect stranger in the middle of a classroom filled with people he doesn't know. Whether it was right to involve Shinobu in his love troubles or not, or to befriend anyone with an ulterior motive is another question. On befriending I'd think it depends whether you intend to be an honest and sincere friend even if you have ulterior motive for becoming friends.
