Ellen and rubys conversation in the upcoming chapters is basically ruby spiraling/unstable and talking to ellen as if its a dream. She doesnt explain the situation out to ellen but its obvious by rubys reaction that she didnt want that kiss and is pretty revolted by it. Ellen puts the context clues together and doesnt think ill of her
