Where is this turning

I think there going to be a redemption arc for Wilhelm. Since the FL already admitted she loved him then maybe the story will end with them raising their kids together. I hope not.. I think Wilhelm dying and the FL living in misery is the best ending for this story. (And hopefully somehow their kids grow up to be happy adults??)
