Not to cause discord but this IS rlly the most domsubverse story ever bc 99% of them are like this. Ive never rlly came across one that doesn't end with "the power of love cure our needs for anythings above spicy vanilla"
Like somehow I do wish authors will use this subgenre to explore more bdsm dynamics (like this one w a sub top x dom bottom) and include plays with particular kinks and not just do a slightly rough sex first chapter and then just normal sex w a "good boy" in the middle for the rest of the volume

Tbh the only thing this series has on other domsubverse's is the fact that the dom/switch is a bottom lol
I know of one other series that, if I remember correctly, had a dom bottom but it wasn't domsubverse it was just a young man who did BDSM shows and the older guy that fell in love with his dom queen act.
Other than that tho most series with this trope are pretty much the same. People are acting like this trope is super diverse or something when it's less so than omegaverse.

Well domsubverse and BDSM are 2 separate genre, domsubverse is like this in which they have secondary gender that separated from the male and female, those are the dom and sub and occasionally switch which switching the dom into sub and vice versa and there are normal which dont have those secondary, so think of it like omegaverse where there are the alpha (equivalent to the dom) and omega (equivalent to the sub) and beta (normal) but omegaverse included mpreg, as for BDSM its a genre in which the BDSM involved, so if the domsubverse also has BDSM as a genre that means the domsubverse involves the BDSM in the story

Kuze change your fucking settings lol
I know what domsubverse is. I have an ongoing list of all the ones I've read and remembered to put on there.
When I was referring to the other series with a dom and sub it wasn't a domsubverse series. It was just a regular young man who was a queen and one of the customers/viewers that fell in love with how beautiful he looked while performing.
The general rules for something to be considered domsubverse is the dom, sub and switch are secondary sexes or natures. There are those who are "normal" outside of verses and do not suffer the mental and physical backlash those that do have a secondary do. The typical setting is top dom x bottom sub. There is an accessory-- "collar"-- system that is used when mutual trust is gained between partners that want to show that they belong to one another. Sometimes, depending on the writer's discretion, pheromones come into play, but it isn't a core rule to be considered a domsubverse story. The main thing that matters is the secondary sex that lies outside of the primary, safe words, commands/plays and the collar system.
The part where BDSM comes into play with domsubverse are the commands/plays. Irl they are more commonly called "scenes" but you can use play interchangeably. BDSM is heavily centered around mutual trust between consenting parties, establishing boundaries, a safe word and catering to one another's needs and wants. It isn't just hitting one another or humiliating your partner. Some people might like that, but that isn't the same for everyone.
Which is why it annoys me that people are trying to say this isn't a domsubverse work when it establishes the core rules and setting needed for it to be one. They even have suppressants to help curb the impulses brought on by involuntary secondary impulses.
Like, ofc I'm excited for bottom dom x top sub, but I felt like everything was going too smoothly anyways once they met. I'm still happy to see bottom doms, but personally as a switch who mostly bottoms as a dom it's kinda nice to see how they'll struggle and get through this.
At least it's better than the other switch I know of in a different series that abused his sub for ages 'cause he was too afraid to ever be submissive. Touma has always been sweet and more of a softer dom the entire time so I kinda suspected he might be a switch in the end.
Also, this idea that I'm seeing crop up that this isn't "actually domsubverse" just 'cause it isn't hard-core BDSM is making me cackle. Not every play has to be ropes and chains or absolutely humiliating your partner. Some of us literally feel the most fulfilled just wearing an accessory to show "ownership" while others do enjoy more rough, violent while consensual plays. It just goes to show how ignorant you guys are about BDSM/kink/fetish culture.
