They really both are good with communication, it's just that they see things differently. And honestly tho, I can't blame them. Both are saying something really nice for their relationship, they aren't really saying something that's very hard to achieve, you know? It just so happens that they love & respect each other in different ways.

they are good at communicating in the sense that no one is yelling however kang is failing to realize that he is being insensitive and that will only make insecurity grow in their relationship

I think he's just being honest & realistic. It's true that it kinda hurt Yiyoung, but sometimes the truth really does hurt. It's not about they don't wanna be together forever, it's more like trying to face things in a realistic way if ever the time comes. Cuz sometimes its not always you & me against the world. That's how fcked up the world can be. I see this story in a realistic manner that's why i dont see anything wrong with how Director Kang explained it. He did say that he will try his best, he's not overconfident. So i think it's enough (actually good, there's not much of an ego issue) cuz he actually recognizes he's not perfect, but will try to be for Yiyoung. That alone actually means a lot.

i understand what you're saying, and i agree that realism and honesty are important in a relationship. however, we also have to consider their significant age difference and the impact of Mr. Kang's words on Mr. Ahn.

    all the things Kang said:

Kang said "oh my god" then took a shot (after realizing he was Ahn's first boyfriend).
"When you become my age, you'll have dated far more than I have."
"You said I was your first relationship. If you think about it, the chances of your first relationship lasting forever are..."
He goes on to say that Ahn is still young and has a bright future ahead of him.
"Even if what I said wasn't essentially wrong, I shouldn't have said it the way I did."

regardless of whether he's being 'real,' Kang still doubled down when apologizing. essentially saying, "oh, I know I hurt you with what I said; I could have said it better, but i'm just being honest." when we look at all of what he said, it’s a bit ehhhh.. while honesty is crucial, the way it's communicated is equally important. being brutally honest doesn’t necessarily make you a saint; in fact, it can come off as insensitive, causing people to distance themselves.

you mentioned, "Cuz sometimes it’s not always you and me against the world. that's how fucked up the world can be." in that case, wouldn’t some degree of ignorance be bliss? shouldn't Kang, given his intelligence and fondness for Ahn, strive to balance honesty with empathy and support? relationships thrive on communication that is both truthful and considerate, especially when there is an age gap that can amplify insecurities and misunderstandings. kang's approach, while realistic, could benefit from more sensitivity to ensure it doesn’t unintentionally harm the person he cares about. the communication in chap 26 was much better than the past ones, he did have his moments of only thinking about himself though. thanks for your perspective!
