Trust your instincts, everything about his behaviour isn't right!
Constantly checking up on your significant other and making them feel guilty if they don't respond right away is in line with him being an abusive partner. Even if it's uncomfortable, one has to let their partner be independent and have a life of their own too. If they want friends you don't like too bad, that's their prerogative.
I keep reading to see what the punishment for his behaviour is going to be but I'm getting worried that it may never come.
Please stay away from people like this, every action of his is a red flag so far...
