I rlly hate the whole “the only reason why x character loves x character is because of their past life” trope but for some reason i don’t hate this one, tbh it actually makes this better

    I get you! I think for me it's because it's being addressed that Minchan is a different person from who he was in his past life and our dear goblin truly struggles to accept that, which I think is a much more realistic take on the trope from an emotional perspective... especially considering the amount of trauma involved in both their pasts.
