The monk went and brought Takaba back to the temple after he walked away. he cares abt. his welfare. Yoh did the same thing. He was connected to Asami too.

I don't think Asami would drop Akihito off with just anyone. It's highly likely the monk has some kind of prior history with Asami and evidence indicates he is quite capable of defense himself.

The hair is a critical component of his beastly strength and "charm", though the idea of someone going Delilah over him is rather funny.
