He was an asshole even before the mind control and his bad relationship with MC is totally his own fault. The dude fucked up so much that no matter what pity party he makes i’ll only say fuck him

He’s being mind controlled. His lack of trust and rapport with MC leaves him weaker to this from the witch who is using his sisters body. I do feel partially bad for him because when you read the novel from his point of view you can really understand his confusion and distress but you also have the luxury of the reader to look at him and think “how fucking stupid are you.”
