Umm from what i remember she is a legitimate child. She’s the supposed child that died with His wife, but she somehow was able to be born. UMM I MIGHT BE WRONG BUT LIKE all i know she is a legitimate child of the family.
The previous reply is right its a little iffy with the timeline but i think before their mother died some god (im assuming dragon linege) saved the mc and the mc was born and just kinda kept in the palace. Its really weird cause she lived in the palace like normally just her family didnt know she was family. She was the child of the troublemaker brother, but after him and his wife passed away, she was kept in a separate palace I believe. So she's technically cousins with her brothers and her new dad was originally her uncle if I remember correctly. I could be mistaken though

Just reread it and it says "she is the illegitimate daughter of a distant foolish relative who got disowned" in chapter one. Not the biological daughter of her current dad.

If you go through the spoilers or read the novel, I remember that the man who adopted her within the main Etam family is her biological father and his two sons are her biological older brothers. The wife of that man passed away before she could even give birth to Ayrin so he believed his child is died and buried them both together until a dragon came and save Ayrin who is in the verge of death and return her to the Etam family where she was concluded to be the illegitimate daughter of a distant foolish relative. I remember reading this part. It was so sad, but I somehow forgot how he found out.
