Not the same author. But Koreans are bad at originality they tend to do similar stories once they see one working so I wouldn't be surprised if it's inspirdd

Welp, the thing is the character in this story is pretty much a copy and paste since the character has same name and similiarites with Solgae from Did it Work.

If you think that's copy and paste you might want to either go check Did It Work again or learn the definition of copy because:
    1. The characters have completely different appearances
    2. The plot is clearly different
    3. Similarities are not copy and paste
    4. Wow Sherlock, thank you for pointing out that it is similar when I literally just explained to you that it reminds you of another story because Korean take inspiration from popular stories, WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT.

It's not connected, it's probably just someone who thought "I like Solgae's character let me make my own story with a character like him" that's it. Because, as I said, Korean authors aren't original. This is basic damn logic.

It doesn't mean it is actually connected to Did It Work, look up the definition of the word connection please.

Bruh the most basic thing you should do is checking the author before accusing shits. It's not a hard thing to do.

Also it's common for novels to be adapted into manga/manhwa, hence the different artists.

To begin with characters having the same name isn’t uncommon, however in this case, it’s the actual story of characters from Did it Work. Like other said, the original is a novel, this just got adapted by a different artist. You all really need to be aware that most of the popular manhwas and manhuas are originally novels that got adapted.

I would've recommended you do basic google searching before accusing the hell out of the whole industry.

Untrue for manhwas, especially since a lot of manhwas were made back when the webtoon format wasnt really a thing.

First of all, my assumption comes from the fact that the industry is actually like that. I don't have the same assumption for mangas because mangas can't relate. Just because it's untrue once doesn't mean it is untrue all the time. Actually,if it was a manga I would've looked it up to check because that phenomenon is less important in manga.

Literally, they re-use the same archetypes, sometimes down to characters' appearances, occupations and tropes. I moslty read toxic stories and can recognize them without even openning the story because of how unoriginal Korean and, often, Chinese authors, are. And I'm using it to my advantage to find what I like fast so it's not even like I hate it since it's not that deep it's BL.

So that's not accusation honey that's a fact. If you don't like it, cry about it.

    1. I literally had to google the author because the author written on mangago is different. So idk why you're acting liek that was the most obvious shit.

    2. I am not accusing the author, I'm stating facts : Korean and Chinese authors mostly don't bother to be original, you can use your eyes and look at the mangago yaoi list for reference and notice that, actually, you will find the same tropes, postures, jobs, hair colors, similar backgrounds and names. So maybe before trying to portray authors as victims you should check the person't arguments.

    3. Novels are almost never adapted to manga, and manga is a whole entire different industry with completely different standards. What you meant is manhua/manhwa, two similar industry, though still somewhat different. And even then, actually, most manhwas aren't adaptations, MANHUAS are adaptations.
In fact, as someone who's seen the industry evolve over the past 10 years, there were barely any adaptations from novels to drawn works until BL got mainstream attention with webtoon around 2018 and Manhua webtoons really started appearing. Before then, manhwas and manhuas were actually trying to copy the manga industry and you would find the same codes as manga in manhua and manhwas and most of the time it wasn't adaptations.

You are welcome for the History lesson.

Though most of the times we would've been right, it seems like this time, it is actually the same author but the person who uploaded Did It Work put the wrong author name so it didn't appear as the same author

    airingela July 27, 2024 5:47 pm

    @Meruemshu

    1. Mangago system on naming the authors is shit so yes, checking the authors on other sites should be a common sense rather than jumping to the conclusion of them being unoriginal.

    2. We’re currently talking about this particular bl manhwa called Catch Up which is written by the same author as Did It Work. Why are you bringing other authors’ works into this conversation?

    3. When I said novels, I also meant LN which came from Japan. But I feel like you’re just nitpicking on my mistakes here so whatever.

Girl, you’re already wrong about this manhwa being unoriginal so just admit you’re wrong instead of getting defensive. You look dumb.
