Replying bc I also want to know how this was treated in the novel

I've read some in-depth spoilers and they never mentioned that the two personalities merged. That doesn't mean I didn't happen though.

What I do find is strange is that I think the comic is going a different direction.

From what I recall, this isn't supposed to happen until after he takes away her senses. She is locked up, made blind, mute, and deaf, unless she is in his presence.

Her only escape is through dreams. Through dreams she learns the truth of her heritage through her father (she is a cambion and her father is a demon lord).

So, I have no idea what is going on. Unless those spoilers were all wrong or in the wrong order.

On a related note, that is probably why there has been delay in the release of the Tsuyokute anime. The last arc of the light novel (and subsequently, the manga) was absolute trash. It's been more than a year since it's announced release date. Japanese and English fans alike RAGED against it. Allegedly, the author was tired of it and wanted to move on and the mangaka just portrayed what happened in the original work.

Anyway, I'm not saying that the WN/LN is of this mangua is trash. I'm certainly open to a different ending arc, although I don't particularly like that the personality merge (I assume it is a merge) appears to have the OG Illiana as the dominant personality.

As another user said, I think this would be a good chance to get the MLs perspective on things. Flesh him out a bit more rather than relegate him to hot whacko.

The in depth spoilers I saw had it where it was always two separate people. The dad also knew that the girl in his daughters body wasn't his daughter and for the mom if I remember right you either barely meet the mom or don't meet her at all. I don't remember the author plot we're going through right now being in the spoilers either. What happened was OG Illiana messed up with her dream powers and ended up stuck in limbo basically and then MC ended up in her body (I forgot how).

Mag actually does fall in love with MC but doesn't abandon his revenge plot bc he still doesn't know MC and Illiana are two diff people plus he wants to make her obsessed and reliant on him so she doesn't leave. So, he tortures MC the same way he was and when he's satisfied with said revenge they go back to the palace. At one point, MC is sleeping and the dad shows up (there isn't a big showdown like we saw in the manhwa) to save her. And she does willingly leave with the dad despite her stockholm syndrome and they take a trip through hell together because the plan was to send her back to her world.

I do remember everyone being REALLY mad that MC and ML get together after ML tortures her for something she didn't even do and they wished MC and Illiana had actually been the same person so maybe the changes are because of that? But otherwise just going based off spoilers alone the novel seemed more coherent and with a better story line. This was supposed to be psychological and dark to begin with so the original plot would've been fine.

I do feel like manhwas tend to be light on dark/psychological aspects due to panel style and cover only some aspects of the original script, so maybe they toned it down while making the manhwa. I do hope they worked along the author of the novel to rewrite the story though

That and the dad was actually an archdemon and the mom was human, so Ililiana got it backward.

As I said before, I now have no idea where the plot is going. I checked my raw toon sites and chapter 80 is the most recent release captured.

This isn't the first time I've seen a toon have major changes, especially toward the end (from the novel).

There was even a toon like this, I totally forgot which, where I read the spoilers, checked the raw toons site, and saw it as a faithful adaptation for almost twenty chapters, then in translation was RETCONNED and those raw chapters I saw were GONE. The story changed quite a bit towards the end and I remember it going from a bit dark to very light.

Twenty chapters!!! It was crazy. I felt so bad for the artist.

Yeah! And Illianas body can't have kids bc of it or something but I guess because the soul is different and Mag is Mag they managed it anyway lol

I've seen a couple series make changes but I have to say this one has the most severe changes I've seen. Most changes I've seen are normally about the ML or downplaying some of the more violent scenes, this one completely changed the vibe and plot of the series.

Sometimes I wish a publishing company/artist won't take on a project if they're not comfortable with the content.

I wish I could say this was toned down but if we're going by novel spoilers than they completely changed the vibe of the story and the plot. This isn't even close to what the spoilers said was in the novel. I really hope the author was involved too because if someone did this to my work I'd be so distraught :((

Ikr..tbh if you have watched marry my husband drama it followed the novels plot where the ml had a fiance before meeting the mc whereas its manhwa showed that ml was single his whole life

If I had to guess, the whole thing with Mag taking away her ability to function to force her to be dependent on him and her clinging to her sanity through her dream walking was considered "too extreme".

If I remember correctly, he took away all her senses, except in his presence, and would leave here alone for days, with the goal of effectively brainwashing her to depend on and become obsessed with him.

But she held out thanks to her powers and Daddy eventually saved her.

You know... Now that I think about it, I have kind of been noticing a pattern here.

As I said, this isn't the first time. In almost every case where they've retconned things later in the story, it's almost always involved a yandere.

Maybe that's just my bias.

Also, I did just remember another example of an ongoing toon that has had a couple of chapters removed: Adonis.
