I totally understand how frustrating is is. I'd be leaving them sitting at the table, idgaf.
But also understand that almost all of the authors who write these stories are from Asian countries. The culture between Asians and westerners in terms of relationships differ GREATLY. While we are more direct and blunt like "You're gross. I'm dating someone. I'm leaving." Asians tend to be more indirect, subtle, and tend to avoid confrontation so as not to make themselves or the other person uncomfortable even if they're ALREADY uncomfortable. So they're probably just writing this story based on what they know and their own culture. You're free to look this up and fact check me lolol
Don’t worry I trust what you tho it’s still frustrating I get customaries but I’d like to see this pattern broken. On mc that dosent want misunderstandings to happen, still what can we do if it’s based on like you said what they know and their culture . Makes it interesting but frustrating lol
I completely agree... it would be nice if authors had MCs who stood up for themselves and who would stop being so passive in moments where they need to be DIRECT. Like come on... often times I've wanted to rip my hair out for an MC that didn't directly tell someone that they weren't interested. Like seriously? Just as you said, that results in misunderstandings!

Maybe this is just me but I don’t understand how in many stories I’ve seen now, where the mc is in a relationship AND FOR SOME REASON they can not draw a line with the people who hit on them. It’s annoying and unpleasant like no joke stressing me out.
Sure they work together in a way but this time their spending together ain’t really work related yk. If a guy asked me are you seeing anyone to then just say they’re not here so who cares. I’d be out of that car in a flash cause I wouldn’t want to cause misunderstandings but this is a bl world so no use complaining even tho that’s what I just did LMAOOOO
