He's not old enough to know. He's five. But anyways, unless the adult plays the father role he can be seen as an uncle or much older brother figure. I mean he is acting as a father but SH wouldn't know any differently. Or could just be seen as YJ's "lover". Like, in The Golden Compass Lyra didn't know her Uncle is her father and Mrs. (I forgot her name) Is her mother. And I think Lyra was 9 or 12. I don't remember.
