We don't know how desperate they were considered but it happened. It's mostly believed they used to meet people by introductions. The classic "you know, my friend has a single son. Would you like to meet them for your daughter?" Even at balls. It was unpolite to just introduce yourself. You were suposed to have someone else introduce you to new people they already knew

Ein is so like me when it comes to love, I just don't know how to act at all, friends and family even colleagues and classmates, these are always the categories were people were placed, so to now suddenly introduce a new category of "lover"siiigghh....how do you even proceed?
So if we were Ein...in that society where divorce is probably out of the question, hm...what are the possible ways for him to find someone good, especially since he's well-known around the empire and maybe even other nations, how is he gonna do it, it's like a celebrity, how would he know if they love him for him or for his status? What would you all do if you were in his stead? It's not like he can go to a convention to meet like minded people, or go to a gym..he has everything in his house, so the only people he could meet are in balls or the ones around him and for him it's only Karina that he met thanks to Rosalia.
