Tbh i think beside the relationship development with Hayden in Future, Brett is fine the way he is, like his character being chill and but also calculate a same time is what make Brett interesting character
it's funny how brett introduced hayden to the director for career guidance but what hayden got from her was advice about how bad brett is lol, i wonder how brett would feel if he knew this
I dont think its personal to brett. I think she thinks rich people in general live to flippantly inconsiderate of others and that makes it hard for an ordinary person to be with. Ironically his getting everything he wanted in life was what attracted him to hayden in the first place because he was bored and tired of fake. She did admit she doesnt know him well enough and it may turn out differently for them. Although i agree im a brett fan 100%
Honestly I don't think you can really not be a bit calculative and pragmatic when youre that rich... and Brett is relatively good compared to the others shown in the comic. I do think his growth would be more related with becoming more responsible and maybe trusting of Hayden.
I get they had different upbringing and all... abd that Brett is uber rich and all... but Hayden tho... I don't think he's much like that director. At least financially. My dude lives alone in a relatively nice apartment... while going to college and not working part time... he doesn't scream I'm a poor Cinderela tbh. When he met the director I thought he'd go actor or model route cuz he does have the looks for it.
Using analogy I feel like he's a wolf that stayed dressed as a sheep so long he needs to relearn to be a wolf and integrate into a pack... and Brett... idk... sometimes I think he just feels bored of life and all the hipocrisy? Maybe we'll see more of his problems in the next season...
i know what you mean! i have faith in the author though i don't really think this is just going to a story of hayden "changing brett for the better" which would seem cliche i think if there is changing it will be both of them changing for each other in the way you do in relationships? they're both stubborn and since it's a fight for dominance it's going to be full of push and pull and negotiation!
yea i think hayden is solidly middle class if not somehwat upper middle class. it's not really that much of a cinderella story
I agree to make their relationship work there will need to be compromise. They both have to be willing to change for each other. Brett being an Alpha like Hayden allowed Hayden to be the top. They match each other’s freak which could be one of many reasons why they bonded.
I mean the woman director also Brett’s mom friend(?), the way she said “If he like his father” made me think she not simply think bad of Brett because of he being rich, but because she see Brett’s dad being bad partner to his mom and than assuming? Idk Brett also not coming home often, his family dynamic is quite odd tbh
Yeah you right! Hayden is awkward and shy but he not naive and being trick to think Brett someone he is not, like the old woman director, beside At first glance, Hayden always seems to be at a disadvantage, self-conscious, but Hayden is still the one who has the power to decide in this relationship, he not let’s Brett being rich controlling him, not that Brett who want to be dominant would like that, and Hayden knows it. He is just conflicted and has not yet understood the current state of the relationship between the two of them for his own moral ideals. Anyway, your analysis is very good, I like the way Hayden is analyzed by you
Like if they change, I hope they change in the direction of making each other life better (according to their circumstances) not to change personality to make the relationship more stable and comfortable because then it's no longer the title of the story lol. imagining one of them suddenly becomes obedient under the other's power to develop the relationship is not only cliche, but also destroys the attractiveness of their characters. I don't like that Hayden is too passive in ss1 but Hayden's stubbornness, sensitivity and idealism are also his special points, I don't want him to become a lovesick puppy controlled by Brett, similar to Brett, even though he is quite a submission role in bed with Hayden, but I don't want Brett to turn into a obedience Waifu who listens to Hayden just to have a stable relationship like Hayden wants, Brett's free spirit and chill personality is his attractive point, I don't want to trade this attractive point just to be more compatible with Hayden. and isn't it because they are so opposite that their relationship is attractive? i reading this story not to see the normal vanilla relationship between them, i watch them fight for love and their own ideals lol, of course if their want continue stay together some change is need but please don’t completely change their personality just to please the other, and if ss2 with more sweet moments would be good too.
Maybe I'm biased but I don't like that Brett has to change to please Hayden's ideals, Brett himself has accepted Hayden for who he is but Brett is the one who has to change for this relationship to develop? I'm not saying Brett is perfect and doesn't need to develop, he has a lot of problems to solve, but isn't Brett's personality what attracts Hayden? The only thing Brett needs to change is his rigid and pragmatic way of thinking and open up more to Hayden, which also requires Hayden's cooperation. I'm just ranting but Brett certainly won't become a different person because of Hayden, just like Hayden won't change his way of thinking because of Brett, that's why in season 2, their relationship is still a battle.
