This is something I will say for someone who has seen women who have experienced what Sae has gone through. When you’re treated as an object to the point where you believe you have no self-worth, your brain doesn't recognize your own individuality or independence. This can be seen in women and girls from third world countries, where they are denied education and any sort of self expression and raised to be nothing but mothers and wives. It takes time, a lot of time for them to recognize that they are meant for greater things than just being wives and mothers. It’s hard for these women and girls to come out of their concrete shell and even if they do, they still choose to remain in the roles they were brought up in. One thing to note is that these women don’t necessarily have to be abused or beaten by their families, even if you are loved, if u grew up in a household that believes a women’s worth is nothing but being wives and mothers, there is no changing that. Sure a husband like Souhaku can show their wife a life outside the kitchen, but it will take time to build that confidence. Doesn’t mean u shouldn’t try it.

Doesn't the female lead stand up to someone or learn something from how her family treated her, what is she hoping actually... When she is the one who got the garbage treatment firsthand.... At this point I'm just glad the husbands smart atleast.
