Though what you may be remembering was there for some reason being discourse about her gender(I think) that had them both kicked out of their first clan

Yep nothing says abt hyejin being a netkama but as seyoung prefer to him as "A guy" he became friends with when he plays that game says it all, he even prefer him as "He" please reread the early chapter (=・ω・=)

And the reason why heejae and others prefer him as "her" was typically because hyejin didn't tell the (he's probly planning to make heejae jealous by thinking he was a girl)

in the unofficial translation they use 'he' but in the official they use she. they never mention anything about hyejin being a netkama and officially hyejin's character is listed as female. Hyejin is a woman.
