I make s lot of predictions for this story in particular...

Most of my predictions are too far along in the plot to have been able to prove out or not but I did NOT see THAT coming. I mean as soon as he touched the bottle I knew it was likely he drank it but I didn't think for even a second that mc would sabotage himself for his assistant. I mean it is true to his character but it was his big plan. Someone that determined sadly usually wouldn't let that bother them. They would more likely just think “will I'm not going to be here anyway so who cares if I accidentally take someone else out so long as my target does and I die that's all that matters.” I mean I'm not personally like that. I'm a bit of a pushover and would have likely fallen in love with the guy who killed my family with the excuses of “is a political war he had no choice”, “I mean, at least he let my brother and me live” and“out was either them or him, he didn't have a choice.”

Fr but it is is smart, instead of yeonjo just giving in and not giving him the poison or stopping him last second “just because she loves him” (he didn’t even realize it yet), the author gave an actual unavoidable scenario where yeonjo has to admit to it (or let him die but yeonjo isn’t like that)

Oh yeah, absolutely. The author did a great job on this entire thing. Because I'm an author myself, it's not often I'm surprised and I'm always happy when it happens, assuming it's because the author is good at their job and not that there is a surprise that is really unlike what the character of story could ever hope to achieve.
