This reminds me of "What It Means To Be You" and "Wished You Were Dead" with how the "ml" is abusive towards the "fl" and how the authors ultimately give "justification" to the actions of the abuser all because they are broken and can't sort that shit out. And ultimately they get back together and it perpetuates this idea that as long as they repent on their actions then they deserve forgiveness from the person they hurt. Like just because they've grown doesn't mean that they have earned forgiveness and it doesn't mean that their growth has erased the damage done. Idk maybe because I've been in a similar situation this genuinely triggers me but I want one of these end with them leaving the abuser and being OK on their own.
Seriously, every time I read comments like this, I'm glad that I'm not the only one who wants a different ending. Like the FL can forgive the ML/abuser, but they DON'T NEED to end up together.
