I thought the same thing as you. I was okay with the slow-burn romance, but the plot is being dragged out too much by focusing on their idol careers. It doesn't contribute significantly to the plot's progress. At the very least, their job scenes should have some impact on the storyline—like him discovering something connected to the body's owner or triggering memories that help him remember something.
I really like slow burn plots but honestly this story isn't really going anywhere at this point. It's slow, yes, but the plot isn't progressing. The chapters are kinda fine if this story doesn't have any supernatural elements to it and just pure idol story (like K-On and Idol Project) or maybe even slice of life with transformations (like Odd Girl Out) but NO. Chapters like these are fine but the story should progress and fillers shouldn't take up to 80% of the plot. The novel isn't really any different too so I honestly think I will either let this sit for a year or two, or just drop it since I already read the novel. But the novel isn't really that good of an impact too—like these fillers doesn't really build up the climax. I would've love this more if they made it pure idol story without supernatural plots.
