I agree with the 1st statement. But I think the Beta ran away because he got a fright. He only saw the omega as a friend. I think, he suddenly realized that his friend IS AN OMEGA and what it meant.

I know it's hard, but maybe you should've said something, he can't read your mind.
I wonder if the beta was terrified he was going to rape him and that's why he ran away? Nothing worse than finding out how "ugly" you really are inside.
