I think it adds to the story, not everyone has "perfect" parents so it is their job to be able to handle what their parents throw at them. Also in Japan parents tend to be less open when it comes to sexual relations (￣∇￣")
I liked it it was really cute but it really pissed me off that the parents put all the blame on the children like its also your fault for not teaching them safe sex and everything else （￣へ￣）
