As someone who has actually had this happen, it was honestly an awful ans horrible feeling. My dad is abusive and put my kitten in a cold bath one time. The next time I went to his house, something was off about my kitten. I thought she seemed strange so I asked my step sister about it and then she finally told me the truth.
That the bath my father gave my kitten, gave her an ear infection so bad that it killed her. And to hide that fact from me, he got another kitten from the same litter that looked the same. I was so heartbroken that I didnt know what to do. I still wanted to take care of the kitten because he was already there, but I was already attached to my first one. In the end I didnt get to keep that one either because my father threw it out of the house just because it pooped behind the tv. Dumbass didnt know that you're supposed to train them to use the litter box. That kitten died after getting run over.

No you're exactly right. We suspected for years that he had MPD because one day he'd be a huge piece of shit and yell at everyone and then the next day he would be super nice and cook delicious food and run a bath for my step mom after her 12 hour shift as a nurse.
