If you hate pseudo-incest because it's cliche, then, that's a first. I can assure you that for everyone else on this site, it's for so-called "moral" reasons. As for me, it's yaoi 101 and no different from any other plot mechanism used in yaoi.
Ofc the moral thing also comes to mind but at this point it’s just boring. It’s so overused I don’t even bother to say oh it’s weird anymore. I’m just exhausted.
I suppose we can say the same for every other yaoi plot - debt, kidnap/confinement, revenge, contract lovers, stand-in, childhood friends, reconnection, enemy to lover, rags to riches, lovers after the fact (ahem noncon/rape/dubcon) and the list goes on....lololol
