The seme made it by making a deal with a spirit. The ghosts part of the deal was to make the seme into the uke which basically ruined the uke’s life.

basically blondie hijacked MC's destiny/fate, that's what the thread means. Blondie making the contract with the spirit was what caused MC to get into the car accident, why he got the scar on his face, why he couldn't act anymore, etc. But he still thinks it's his "bad luck" and stupidly wants to protect the person who caused him all that misery
reading this latest chapter knowing what the thread really means was...painful
