this manga reminds me of http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/zankoku_na_kami_ga_shihai_suru/ where the are a lot of people around the victim who could have helped him, but they misunderstood the situation, trust the rapist more than the victim (rapist have good reputation), and a biological parent who didnt care abt the son (victim) at all. both mangas are depressing and show the psychological effect of getting raped continuously. except the brother rapist this manga(kokoro) has romantic feeling to the victim.

Except in Zankoku the author didn't have the victim fall for the rapist and that will likely be the case here. But yeah. I was reminded of it too.

the first page seems to be noting otherwise actually
i dont think it'll be the case here though, not the way the narrating is been going (haruki isn't willing he's just fed up with the situation, hoping to get past things easier the way he's acting in the newest chapter)

Oh my god. I clicked on your link to just check it out, and I was addicted after the first chapter. It reminds me of a mix between Nakamura Asumiko and Sadahiro Mika.

Hagio Moto is one of the Pioneering Queens of BL/Yaoi, not only that her works are deep and not banal. The Generation 24 group are trailblazers in women-geared mangas, talk about complex issues and quite literary actually. Very high brow for yaoi. She and Keiko Takemiya are great friends/colleagues/rivals in their craft much like Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata of the animstion world.

I owe a lot of my lit class glory to Keiko Takemiya sensei and Hagio Moto sensei.

Where else in yaoi you get such from deep sci fi, Asimov, Bradbury, to poets and literary writers like Rilke, Poe, etc.

Btw when BBC called Takemiya sensei (and her colleagues) Godmother of Manga Sex
so you know they're worth reading!

This is why I will never agree to call Yaoi as straight up porn. They mean something deeper and always have a capacity to be something more.

PS: in light of the ongoing discussions/debate on Mangago in general, especially about rape portrayal in mangas and yaoi in general, the BBC article is also worth reading in its especially toward the end. About how senior mangakas like Takemiya and her generation view what the position of such extreme acts in mangas represent.
