Her brother has the audacity to kill her husband then come to check if she’s okay???? Also didn’t ines go to her brother complaining about Oscar (cp) abusing her and he told her to endure and stuff and that’s the duty of a crown princess so then when did this exchange happened when he cried? Was it after oscar raped ines and made him listen?

This story reveals information bit by bit. It also doesn’t help that the manhwa has either distorted or completely cut certain facts that show Ines is not as innocent as manhwa readers seem to think. It seems you’re also mixing up the timelines.

    1. The flashback in ep82 addresses the crown princess timeline. I don’t blame readers for misunderstanding the scene where Luciano told Ines the speech about what’s expected of her as the crown princess after learning the crown prince was raping her. I completely blame the manhwa for cutting the fact that the crown prince’s guards were listening at the door and that’s why her brother was talking such nonsense to her. Ines specifically noticed this in the dream back around ep 52 - 53.

    2. The flashback in ep82 continues the revelation of that timeline. Now that the crown prince’s guards weren’t listening at the door, her brother visited her again and began to plot to kill the crown prince with Ines. This is new information because as readers should know by now, information is revealed over the story. Just like last ch just revealed that Carcel was tormented and bullied as a 6 year old kid because he chose him as her fiancé and Oscar didn’t like that.

    3. You say her brother has the ‘audacity’ to kill her ‘husband’. That’s because manhwa has majorly covered up the truth of what happened in that timeline. Anyone who knows the truth about how it all began would know it’s Ines’s actions that started that tragedy. That’s why it was deceptive of the manhwa to cut Ines’s internal thoughts in this ch which sheds light on why she could never blame her brother and she instead blames herself for the death of the painter. Manhwa readers won’t understand the circumstances that started everything because the manhwa covered up the truth and will probably continue to cover of the truth.

Thanks for this explanation, i understood the OG confusion… and all the replies were so rude like the timeline of things were/is confusing (legit have to re-read it, which is no issue cuz i love this webtoon but that’s not the case for everyone, and people are busy n whatnot) so I really appreciate the time taken to not only explain but also kind :)!

Indeed it would be confusing. Ep82 in particular touched on two different timelines. I know the information about each timeline because a group of us read the novel a few years ago and have debated many things in it. The story is very complex. If anyone needs clarification on anything, they can ask and I will try my best to answer.

normally I don't read long comments on this sight cause it's mostly drivel but this one was insanely good. I am following pretty well but the detail about her brother saying these things because the guards were listening escaped me! thank you!n

Ines is what you call an unreliable narrator. We get to see how she filtered her story from the beginning but we must understand that she is a person that has a lot of trauma. And filtering is some sort of defense mechanism. Overtime, the truth unfolds and she is even surprised with herself.

It escaped you because the manhwa didn’t include it. When the ep came out previously, a lot of readers hotly criticized Luciano for ignoring his sister’s blight but it’s the manhwa that omitted the fact that the crown prince deliberately left his guard outside the door to monitor the siblings and Luciano realized they were listening and acted like accordingly. Ines only noticed this detail when she dreamt of that timeline again.

Adding to this: Ines didn't notice back then when she was angry at her brother bc Ines had always been a egocentric person. It's after marrying Carcel that she starts to think more in other ppl's shoes and the novel shows this but the manhwa cut them all out. In the novel, Ines had that dream bc she realized she didn't know Carcel in the past lives after he confessed to her so she started to dream about a bunch of things that make her see things at a different pov from before bc now she's not living that life anymore. The dream let her look back at things that she didn't notice before and that's why it was only when she dreamed about the past that she notice there were Oscar's guards spying on them so that's how she found out that Luciano was only saying those words bc Oscar had his guards spy on him. She also noticed Luciano had a pained look so now she can see he was upset at what Oscar did to her. Luciano gave her the bullets to kill Oscar a while after that so Ines alrdy knows her brother don't like Oscar. Readers don't know that so she's rly an unreliable narrator. Another thing is how everyone was thinking she killed herself bc she was so depressed and shit but now she's revealing that she killed herself to protect her brother, so all the hate readers were pointing at Luciano are just bc they're making assumptions from Ines being an unreliable narrator. She's keeping so many things hidden that were alrdy reveal very early in the novel.

Yes I remmber the chapter when she noticed her pained brother expressions but I never understood the reason behind it that’s why I was so confused but the minute that it was explained that the scene where the guards were listening in to their conversations so he had to fake being cruel to her was cut off from the manhwa every piece fell into place…Thank you <3

IDK why the manhwa cut it out. It's so important. Manhwa cuts out too much explanation that it's annoying sometimes especially when readers are so quick to judge for this manhwa.
