He waited 12 years to go back. I think that was their first contact too. He probably didn't even send message before that, considering Haruna's reaction. The best "starting over" he should get should be only as a friend who's also a father to her kid.
Haruna should just tell Hiroyuki to fuck off cuz it looks like she is raising their son alone. I want to continuation of what her life is like as grown up and who she falls in love with and have her happily ever after.
