Even if the parents are absent, they still see how they act around others and each other and what they see is two siblings, in which the oldest is obsessed with the youngest and refusing to meet someone new because he is obsessed with the sister and the youngest accepting this behavior because she's used to it. I would also be concerned as a parent, especially if I'm a Nobel and need to make sure my children marry the right familys. They are terrible parents but this time they are doing the right thing

I agree that they are doing the right thing with separating the two. Afterall, its obvious that if their attachment continues then itll definitely cause serious problems in the long run. However, I just find it icky that the reason it came to this point was because Cain (age 9-12) refuses to talk to his POTENTIAL FIANCÉS. The parents were fully aware of the sibling's dynamic but acted blind on it, only to draw the line when they realized how it'll create problems for their marriages. Besides the only reason the two are insanely co-dependent on each other was because of how terrible the parents are. If they decent human beings and were able to at least ease Cain's worries then it wouldn't be this bad. So yeah, the parents are the problem.
I get that Cain's a bit of a siscon, but aren’t they, like, 9-12years old? The parents are absent 99% of the time, and when they do bother to show up, it’s with the worst parenting I’ve ever seen. Nobility or not, it’s honestly sad that these kids feel like they have to act 'proper' just to avoid their parents' constant nagging.
