I don't think he wanted to stop because he was hungry, I think it was an excuse because he was just feeling so unhappy.

Well I guess what I meant is, we aren't always hungry/have an appetite even if our body is hungry so we can ignore our rumbling tummies for the most part, so I don't think it was the main reason. I don't think most people would stop unless they were really hungry and needed to eat right then...but he barely ate. I think he mostly sad :(
