
Yeah there's a lot of academic discourse actually about the sexual violence present in a tom of BL, usually inflicted on the perceived "woman" or bottom despite being written by a largely female base. (Lots of ppl look at it as a way to process trauma and general violence against women without actually subjecting a woman figure to the violence, whether i agree or not though idk.) Lately though, I think there has been a lot more diversity in the represented gay relationships :D ukes not being overly feminized and power bottoms and switch couples, even having alphas in omegaverse yaoi be bottoms.
