Haruki, Haruka and Hikaru. The names make me so confused!

Same! I had to develop a system: "a" before "i", alphabetically, so Haruki is the older brother and Hikaru is the younger.

Your method is similar to mine. Cheat sheet is the way to go:
Haruki rhymes with aniki = big brother
Haruka rhymes with oka(san) = mother
Hikaru rhymes with fuck you = shit brother
