Idk why Japanese shoujo mostly like this kind of story. I mean, we got an idiotic FL with overly rock bottom self confidence self sacrificing don't know what she's worth, overly devoted who would chase after a guy (who doesn't value her) for eternity. Only for the ML to treat her like trash. He never tried, never expressed any romantic feelings, never treated his partner kindly, and then wondered why his partner turned crazy insecure. Mind you, they had been engaged since childhood and never even been on a date. What is that guy doing ffs..
Clearly words of affirmation are MC’s love language, because she’s insecure af. Her theme song may as well be “You Don't Know You're Beautiful” from One Direction except it’s just the lyrics “You’re insecure” stuck on repeat for the entire song.
She knows she’s worked hard to be a worthy queen, but her current self doesn’t take any pride in it unless it’s necessary.
ML feels like a wish-washy tool who does what he wants when it’s convenient. While I do feel like he got more flak than he deserves, because MC is a delicate crybaby that literally nobody criticizes because they see her as the victim, just because he’s a tsundere that doesn’t mean that she’s gotta do all the work in the relationship.
Except for the butler, all the other dudes feel like sardines in a can. Literally the servants are the best characters.
