Mainly trauma I think. The Choi bastard fucked up his brain so much that he sees himself as not worthy the attention and doesn't trust anybody at all. I kinda understand him yk, he's scared and lost yet brave enough to somehow get through it, he thinks that he's alone with everything because that's how it used to be after that son of a not so nice lady broke him. It's trust issues and his huge trauma, it's not so easy to overcome.
It's gonna be an issue his secret. Well as reader I guess waiting for the outcome, thats all I can do.

Why can't he just tell him the truth and just decide after. I know his worried but not telling him could spark an argument between them. Isn't it?
