I really don’t believe Ginger’s love for dooshi is romantic or at least not an adult’s view of love, it’s like he carried his childhood crush for years cause the obsession is familiar and brings comfort but the type of feeling is still the childhood crush type, it’s admiration for the type of human he is, it’s friendship, it’s a wish for his focus to be on him but I doubt he ever thought about kissing or sex with him etc, but he kept it in so long, had no unrealistic hopes of being liked bakc and just enjoyed his friendship
But like it’s not real adult love which is why he’d been able to get into relationships in the past and now, but how he’s learning to let go of it entirely and the reason he hadn’t been able to so far was cause dooshi had space in his life and occupied a part in his thoughts, now he has someone new truly worthy of his full focus so he’s now truly falling in love, mc isn’t just a replacement and there’s no competition between them in his mind cause what he feels for them is different and this one is real in front of him,
I mean “he’ll always love dooshi” isn’t some tragic “oh he’ll never fully love mc” meaning, he already loves mc in the Love sense, and dooshi is like a brother or something
