Dw it rubbed me the wrong way too, but when u think abt the fact ml doesnt even have parents to give him anything, its js not comparable, and mc understands this too so after a while it wasnt rlly as big of a deal
That's typical. The one that pissed me off was the nut allergy. The mom can be as harsh as she can on her own child. It's actually normal but not on allergies. A parent should know about that and be vigilant regarding that when eating outside.

Double standards lol. Dads normally don't know their kids' birthdays and moms know even their kids' friends' parents' anniversary or something.
In Asia, parents, esp Moms, just give the best service and attention to others - nephew and nieces, friends' kids, kids' friends. Part of hospitality shtick Asians have - across Asian countries, east, Middle, southeast.
But birthdays, allergies, blood type? An Asian parent/mom will beat the stubbornness out of their child but will know those basic three info. Add moles or dimples, especially like in the case of twins. This is indeed a case of neglect.
Ngl when I was reading it and then the mom bought ginseng for the ML not for the Mc it kinda rubbed me the wrong way,No offense since I'm still reading it but the Mom kinda out me of cuz even if your son is Not good at school atleast show him some love you treat the ML more better than your son.
