Yes ppl can change and/or have good intentions (attempts of redemption arc), but from a healthy relationship standpoint, it won’t be in the mc’s best interest to get together the person that raped him. The redhead did not execute his love in the healthiest way, so if he is going to be in a relationship with anyone, needs to work on that first.

Essentially many readers don’t like idea of the CURRENT redhead getting away with a crime/ getting rewarded with it with love from the mc. So if readers are willing to see the redhead with the mc, he really needs to have a good redemption arc
