That's my first thought too, it's obvious he's going to target mc so I don't get why the people in the comments were praising the redhead like?? there is no redemption. He is the villain in this story.

i don't get all the redemption posts. it's pretty clear he's gonna pin the blame on the mc and take this as an excuse to kill the mc. this is the way he can save the ml, himself, and his lover. there's no redemption in this, and he's gonna have a hard time when the ml and his lover finds out that he's attempting to kill/humiliate/whatever the mc.
