Yep he's strong alright but he doesn't know it yet. He's like a super dense type character

If you read it carefully, you can see that all of his friends hunger for power and doesn't care about those who are weaker than them.
Yup let's just say they make him as their leader cuz they're friends and they don't want him to feel left behind but they also seek help and approval from him to get even stronger.
So something happens in the past that out mc may have forgotten.

Not just that but he seems to have a "hidden" superpower. The superpower of "things will work out no matter what I say or do". :P Which gives the others the idea that he's constantly thinking several steps ahead and making intricate plans, even though he's mostly just lucky things turned out all right.

I also think he is strong I mean he is 8th rank means he passed a trial/test to have that rank. He is weak probably if he himself compares to his friends? From his perspective. But just a thought I think his hidden power is really extreme luck and charisma he just isn't aware of it. Or more than meets the eye let's see in the future chapters ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

ngl i dont read manga much since i kinda just wanted a bit spoiler. I prefer watching the anime, kinda curious how cry able to be high ranking position. Like how did he do in the exam?

Okay so, a summary from the wiki: He's weak, but all his childhood friends (the other people in his team) were super strong and talented. When he realized he would never even come close to them he wanted to leave the team, but by then some of the girls had already "fallen for him" (in their crazy way) and somehow the entire team thought it was a good idea to make him team leader instead.

Since then an unrealistically large series of coincidences, misunderstandings, and "protagonist luck" caused everyone in the team and soon after also other people to think he is some brilliant strategist who can see several steps ahead, has god level tracking and investigation skills, and is their strongest fighter.

In reality though?
-He's weak. (author himself confirmed this) The only reason he could fight with top level opponents is because of his enormous amount of relics and the like. Without them he'd be like an average citizen.
-He's a coward and fairly passive. Which is mistaken for being confident and hiding his strength.
-He keeps dragging his team into danger. Which is mistaken as him teaching them a lesson or testing them in some way as a brilliant planner/strategist.

And the list goes on. The only "real" powers he seems to have are that for some reason some spirits protect him without his input, and that he doesn't get "mana sickness."

In other words, it's 100% a "comedy anime" about a weak coward being mistaken for one of the most powerful adventurers in the world through sheer plot armor.

MC is actually a human that is being favored by the world, so in a sense, everything he wants or he wants it to be, unconsciously or consciously, the world will follow his thoughts or wants.. so yea he got protagonist's luck and halo

And yes, he actually have another special power which is the relics actually have restrictions something like that which peoples cannot use them to the fullest potential especially when you just starting to use the relic.. but MC can... and other peoples actually have a limit to how many relics they can use without burden but MC is special, he can use all immediately to the fullest potential (in anime it was hinted also when MC kick that flame sword, then flame brighter than the owner can used is emitted from that sword but MC only need to kick but other might need to grip the sword's handle to bring out the flame)



And the plot will evolve more, at a certain point, MC and his teams will fight beings like a calamity which these calamity is destined to end the world.. but MC being the person who favored by the world.. well.. let's just say the world help him something like that
