And the other being killed not by the scientist but someone else then revived by the scientist
The dead one was a teacher and gay, the scientist was a balding glasses wearing dude with germaphobia who ended up falling in love with the other
If it helps the scientist also revived a monkey it's a tragic yaoi I need to reread it
