I hate that stuff too. And we totally get how frustrating it is when a wholesome story turns into a toxic one or we get rape out of no where. But we don’t attack people or authors in the comments.
In fact that’s how I felt with all the red flags in the main couple and how toxic their relationship came to be. I expected it to be wholesome based on the first few chapters only to be disappointed at the first red flag. I even dropped when he used furniture delivery as an excuse to keep Suha locked up. I didn’t even wait for the gang rape bit (which is way worse). But people feel the need to state the obvious and drag others down to make themselves feel better.
There are methods of constructive criticism. Then there’s blatant rude manners.
1. You absolutely can separate reality and fiction if you have 2 brain cells. Fiction is fiction without needing to be fantasy.
2. Have you met people who have been abused or assaulted? Because I have. Many actually read this stuff as a way to process trauma, forget the shame, and find a healthier way to cope that doesn’t involve repeating the abuse cycle etc (along with therapy etc etc).
3. No one has to read something they don’t like. The number of views alone say enough. Interacting less gets the point across, boosting the views and comments has exactly the opposite effect.
4. Directly attacking innocent *real* people in comments is worse than a work of fiction.
5. No one has issue with respectful constructive criticism.
