did i say i enjoyed the side stories omfg i said i hated it cause dohyeok was raped and abused do you not get it i also dont like stories with only sa in it it seems like i say one thing and you interpret it as another dont you have reading comprehension?? im genuinely sorry for what happened to you and you did not deserve that. but what about those people who suffered the same and their trauma response is reading such works? or those people who got SA'd and become hypersexual? what would you say to them

I’m sorry that happened to you. And it’s absolutely not okay. I hope your cousin gets/ got what they deserve. That is fucked up and I hope you’re able to heal and take back control.
But you can’t forget that some people who read this stuff have been in your exact same shoes. Attacking them is also not okay. Projecting your shitty cousin’s traits on them is also not okay. They’re not the ones who hurt you. Having been hurt in the past is still not an excuse for you to hurt others, although it provides context to your anger, you still never know what someone else has been through. Your cousin and scum like him are the problem. So are enablers and bystanders. But those are not us… if attacking us is what you need to do until you heal, so be it, but people don’t take kindly to being attacked so backlash is expected.

To me, Dohyeok is not an interesting character because he's right. He's interesting because he shows a side of people that many of us don’t want to see. He’s manipulative, emotionally violent, and uses his power and money to get what he wants. But that’s exactly why his story sticks with people.
Some people relate to him, not because they support his actions, maybe because they’ve seen someone like him in real life. Maybe not rich or powerful, but emotionally unstable in the same way. The kind of person who avoids self-reflection, hides behind pride, and acts like everything’s fine when it’s not. People like that often don’t even realize they need help.
I think that’s what makes this kind of character hit close to home. Dohyeok’s behavior isn’t just FICTIONAL. In real life, we also meet people who are impulsive, entitled, and used to getting away with things. People who think they’re fine just because they can cover their mess with money or charm. And when a story like this shows up, people react differently. Some feel oddly seen, and some reject it completely. That rejection isn’t always about moral superiority. Maybe it’s because they’ve been through something similar or know someone who has. They’re protecting themselves emotionally.
After Dohyeok got out of prison, his grandmother told him to stay low and gave his position to Jiwoon. Even then, he never really changed. He kept using threats and power plays. Honestly, someone like him needs serious emotional treatment, but his pride won’t let him admit that.
I see stories like this not as excuses for bad behavior, but as reminders of how deep someone’s damage can go. And our reaction to characters like Dohyeok can say a lot. Are we relating to him, or are we protecting ourselves?
We are all retarded here. You dont have to act like y'all saint cursing others who want to see and read redhair's story again. We want to see him because he's interesting and we arent denying that he was a rapist AND THAT SAME GOES TO THOSE CHARACTERS you read on other BLs. Fucking hypocrites. Acting like some of what you read nowadays don't consist of rapist top/ml. And by the way, at the end of the day THESE ARE ALL FICTION. It's your own call if you want to bring that to real world which shouldn't. Fiction should stay in fiction world. Real life should stay in real life.
