She’s just using the mc as an excuse because he listens to her, so she keeps taking advantage of that. You know how sometimes children cry because they know their parents will do anything to make them stop, like buy them chocolates? They make a habit of crying whenever things don’t go their way, which is a childish way of manipulating their parents. We find that frustrating, don’t we? It's the same with this girl. First, she knows the MC listens to her. Second, she knows she’s treated like a princess whose orders are difficult to ignore. Third, no matter what nonsense she spouts, no one corrects her properly.
The way I see it, her mother treats her more like a product to be groomed for marriage. Her going out seems like a threat to her mother, as if someone is stealing the 'product' she’s invested so much effort in. Otherwise, the guards appointed to protect her should have enough authority to stop the MC from taking her out, ignoring the girl’s demands. Even the guards feel almost non-existent.
This all seems like something an uneducated person would do. Why isn’t she assigned proper bodyguards? How is she even able to sneak out? If there’s a way for her to sneak out, that just shows how faulty their security is not mc.
The way I see it adults here are more frustrating than the girl.
Yes scholars go to academy and scholarly gathering to discuss social problems and come up with solutions like maybe mc is not at fault and just give your damn daughter more skilled guards and have them enough authority to stop the lady.
.

Nah, the 3rd brother is also with them when they go out this one time. Why did he not stopped her? So I don't think she's using the MC as excuse, as like you said, no one ever corrected her but her mother but she just don't listen. That's what it looks to me. And sneak out like when? This one time with MC, 3rd brother and some guards? Or the tournament?
The tournament is inside and it makes sense to not go there. Any parents won't want to get their children harmed especially with that kind of environment and they're not physically prepared for that kind of accidents, you know? But that's okay cuz they're kids that time.
So yeah, it looks to me that you don't have a favorable view of her parents, I get it.
What I just want in here is her not (hopefully) the heroine, unless she matures. Otherwise, give us some badass FL that is suitable in this murim world or just let MC be single.

agreed with u. i cant unsee her behavior to be called small child while 12 in that generation as a female already big enough. calm her just wanting to go out its just doesn't make any sense. if she was desperate she can sneak at night without involving her brothers so just jut the guard will be scholded. but he choose when male discipline especially MC to get involved in her scheme eventho she will know her parents will not blame her but blame other party.and jaegal family is indeed family strategyst like zhu ge liang in chinese.

That 3rd brother is definitely creating trouble for MC. Of course, he wouldn’t miss the opportunity to blame him and her mother isn’t smart enough to see through it.
Yeah during the tournament she sneaked out with MC.
Um what are you trying to explain to me? (I meant, what did I say that made you respond that way?)
Yes, It’s ridiculous how they’re representing a leader’s family.
Honestly, I don’t want her as the FL even if she matures! I’m hoping for a badass FL who will protect MC from his master’s God-forsaken family!

It just the way you say "wanting freedom" and that she's not selfish thing from earlier. I just don't get where it comes from at first. I'm not mad at you or anything. It's actually fascinating how you view it that way. I just explaining how I perceive it differently than yours.
To be honest with you, I'm not as mad as you are with the father, the alliance leader. The mother might be a b!tch but that's it.
Yeon-yeon, at least for me, is selfish girl whatever you say about her upbringing or anything, she's just plain selfish.
Is anyone knows if we will get a very badass FL soon or this is the best they can do?

Ah! I get it now. What I meant was that her selfish behavior stems from curiosity and a desire for freedom, and I realized that during our discussion. After thinking about it, wanting freedom isn’t selfish in itself; it’s just unfortunate she wasn’t born into a normal family. We can only hope she starts acting more mature and addresses her crude personality.
As far as I can see, Murim is a male-dominated world, especially in this manhwa, so as the head of the family and the face of Murim, everything he does influences those who follow him. I’m mad at the fact that such a person is a leader who ignores his wife’s corrupt behavior.
Oh, she is selfish, but every emotion and thought stems from something. I just like to overanalyze human behavior, even if the author didn’t have any grand plan when writing her personality haha.
It was nice sharing opinions with someone who approaches discussions with such open-minded rationale. Have a great day ahead!

12 in that generation may make a female count as if she is big enough but in reality it is not. She will end up being just like her mother who is already an adult but still acts like a foolish person. Why can't it make sense? Also desperation has levels I never said she was that desperate? It's not like they are torturing her for her to suddenly decide I will go to extreme lengths to sneak out at night and abandon my family. Only people who feel like they'll die would do that. Also she knows she will get attacked outside so she always have someone with her. Well I agree with the rest of your points~

you're fighting for your life here lol. sensibly. it really is solely on the parents. idk how people are arguing that. the girls still a literal child. the parents failed & keep failing and the truly frustrating garbage characters are the mother & the gross disciple they originally sold her off to. dads lacking a sense of responsibility in the situation which is also frustrating. if you know your wife is wrong; don't let her act like a mini tyrant in the sect. and sure. the daughter might be frustrating at times but put the blame where it's deserved, lol. while she does hold some for failing to learn after watching the results of her actions time and again; this comments section is out of pocket with the hatred for her. place it evenly where it's deserved, lol. anyways. good job fighting.
and i won't be checking replies to this since it looks like everyone else just wants to continually argue about how it's correct to despise the one character. there's too much toxic hate for female characters in shounens already. especially the love interests. it's a problem of the authors ability to write a genuine female lead & not an issue of the actual characters. so, ultimately; blame the author if it feels annoying.
What do you think about that girl yeon-yeon? I want to hear your thoughts.
