coming back to the comments after reading the novel's main story is pretty funny. as someone already said here, present day morals really can't be applied here much more that it's an omegaverse. it's common for royalty to marry for politics, it's even more common to find another person to bear your child if your partner isn't able to. And it's definitely also not uncommon for you to not love someone who you're forced to marry for politics...
the only thing Allen's been pretty questionable about is him suddenly turning around and liking Chris but that's explained later anyways. everybody else's reaction to this has been pretty knee-jerk, I worry about everyone's media consumption in general.
