Oh no! No, when I registered, it brought me straight to the login page after registering. I logged in and it was fine. Have you tried going to the NU Forums? There's a help section there. Maybe you can talk to a Mod and explain the situation and see if they can help.
Did you receive an email from NU asking you to confirm your account? If not, perhaps you need to go through the registration process again.
